Conservation Efforts
Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet with…(name some stats)
It has attracted philanthropists worldwide who have experienced the wonderment of the nature here and inspired them to create conservation projects.
1. Create your own Nature Reserve
In Costa Rica, you can purchase vast stretches of jungle and make it a permanent Nature Reserve so it will be protected forever against development. As CR becomes a more popular place to live, unethical developers become one of the main enemies of the dwindling virgin forests here. These forests are home to thousands of bird species as well as Jaguars, Tapirs, and other rare and exotic mammal and reptile species, not to mention the extensive and magical insect population. We need more generous philanthropists like yourself to invest in the future of these jungles.
Beyond the need for vast reserves, the animal corridors that these animals need to traverse around the country are getting cut off. When there are no trees to jump through, all the species of monkeys we have are not able to travel the routes they have traveled for centuries.
2. Eco Proactivism
While Costa Rica has so many positive attributes, th Achilles heel of the country is big commercial farming of Palm Oil, bananas, and pineapples. Huge amounts of chemicals and pesticides are used in these unethical farming businesses and there is not much support in combating their negative effect. We need more government lobbying and also a reclaiming of these lands for regeneration.
3. Corporate Responsibility Budgets
While Individual philanthropists are one way to affect positive change, if you are part of or have influence over Corporate responsibility budgets and campaigns, directing these funds to CR can have a massive positive impact for the nature as well as bolster company reputations.
4. Compassionate projects
Like animal rescue and rehabilitation centers, research centers for growing rare and endangered medical plants, and of course reforestation projects would be extremely welcome by those who want to see a more targeted and hands on approach. These kind of things would create meaningful jobs and keep indigenous wisdom traditions alive.
