Why Costa Rica
There are so many reasons why Costa Rica is an excellent place to live and/or invest. There are only so many tropical locations worldwide that provide the features we have here, and frankly Costa checks the most boxes of all of them.
Clean Water
Access to clean and abundant water is one of the most attractive parts of living here. If you choose the right property, you can have a private waterfall, swimming holes, creeks, and springs that you have legal access to for drinking water. This way you can avoid treated or contaminated water, one of the best investments you can make.
Clean Air
There is no major industrial air pollution industry in Costa Rica. There are also no aerosols being sprayed into the air here. Forest fires are extremely rare and only in dryer regions of the country.
Clean Environment
Definitely the cleanest country in Central America, the beaches are pristine and no trash on the side of the road, no garbage fires, and the rivers are also clean and safe to swim in.
Organic Food
In the regions I specialize in and recommend my clients, there is a huge organic food revolution and charming farmers markets almost every day of the week. There is also a huge grass fed movement where you can buy direct from the farmer all your meats, eggs, and poultry. Exotic tropical fruits are one of the huge highlights here that never disappoint.
Clean Energy
Costa Rica boasts the cleanest energy production in the world, running 95% of its energy grid on renewables like hydro and wind. There is no fracking, drilling, or mining of any kind on an industrial scale.
Climate
Warm oceans all year round, and a steady tropical climate that is mild compared to other similar locations. We have wonderful ocean and mountain breezes, and less quantity of annoying insects as well. Its a perfect temperature almost all year round with a great balance of rain and sunshine.
Nature and Wildlife
Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world that has all the wildlife protected. The bird life is some of the most magnificent, not to mention all the furry friends like monkeys and sloths. There are countless world class waterfalls and crystal blue rivers. Let not forget the humpback whale migrations and the rest of the teaming ocean life such as dolphins and sea turtles.
Community
There is a growing International Community that makes it feel balanced, whereas some exotic tropical locations can make you feel disconnected from the world, due to being too remote and lack of a solid community. Here we have good International Schools, a growing culinary scene, and festivals/nightlife for those who want it. Its also a great place to tuck yourself away at home peacefully while avoiding the chaos of the developed world.
Surf
If you are a surfer, Costa Rica has some of the best variety of warm water waves, no wetsuit required all year long. We have long and powerful point breaks, hollow river mouth beach breaks, and heavy, world class reef breaks as well. And yes we have some amazing beginner and intermediate waves for the whole family. Many of these waves are still uncrowded and are consistent all year round.
Health and Wellness
There is a reason that Costa Rica is full of wellness retreat centers, and attracts people who want to live a holistic lifestyle. There is a blossoming wellness community full of healers, therapists, specialists of all kinds here to aid us in our journey to be optimized and healthy. There are also very high quality modern medical facilities for those who require it and affordable private health care plans. Medical tourism is flourishing here.
